Welcome to the site!

A good place to start.

"Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence" (2 Peter 2-3, NASB).

I would like to start this journey off with a couple of quick notes about what it means to truly believe in the Word of God. As this is a site dedicated to "Focusing" on the Word, I feel it is appropriate to understand that a lot of confusion amongst believers could be resolved with a common agreement that the Bible is the final authoritative source for all instruction within the Church.

"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 16-17, NASB).

For the purposes of this site, I will mostly be using the New American Standard Bible. There are many versions or translations of the scriptures out there, this is just my preferred.

I wish that I could say that every single person that professed "Christ is Lord" was living according to their words, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I would like to say that it is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE for anyone on this planet to be perfect. This is the exact reason that we need Jesus. The perfect has already come into this world and has been given up for it. We no longer physically walk with Jesus, as the apostles did, but what we do have is the complete Word of God. It is the source of all instruction and comfort and knowledge about who Jesus was and is.

So as we continue daily to receive thought and knowledge and revelation, please understand that it is through the Bible that one finds answers that pertain to God, not through opinion. I sincerely look forward to discovering new thoughts and relating contemporary issues to the instruction of the Bible with you.

Until next time.
